Despite that she never wants to fall in love, she is in love with the idea of true love and often reads tragedies.
Her favorites are Romeo and Juliet, the ballet of The little Mermaid, and Swan Lake.

In the original Swan Lake Odette dies because her prince gives his love to another, which is what Peoni loves to dance.
It helps her cope while she's trying to bottle up all of her passion, longings, and dreams.

The outfit was inspired by Odette's dress from the animated version of Swan Lake...
Even though no one died in that version other than Rothbart.
